Fanorona is a game of strategy from Madagascar. Invented in 1680, the game pits two equal forces of 22 pieces against one another. It has an unusual methods of capture, approach and withdrawal, in place of the jumping capture usual in similar games. The game has had a surge of popularity in recent years due to its inclusion in the Assassin's Creed series of video games.

This PDF file allows you to print your own fanorona game. It is designed to be printed onto a couple of sheets of A4 paper or card. A third page of instructions can be printed on A4 paper. Pieces are included.
