A late version of the Viking game hnefatafl, tablut was played in Lapland in 1732. A king must escape from the board with the help of eight defenders. Around the edges are sixteen attackers who lie in wait to capture the king.
This print-and-play file, borrowed from the site Hnefatafl: the Game of the Vikings, is designed to be printed on three sheets of A4 paper or card. An optional fourth sheet contains instructions for assembly and play.
